Immersed in an olive grove to reconnect with nature

Hortus is a farmhouse immersed in an olive grove that seeks to offer an experience that is both unique and a true return to contact with nature and simple flavors.

The farmhouse, the result of an expert renovation that has salvaged the materials and respected the original volumes, features the charm of a pleasant and unexpected contrast between the taste of tradition in the outdoors and the modernity and sophistication of the interior décor.

Authentic flavors
in an exclusive location

Hortus restaurant is the ideal place to find authentic flavors in a quiet and tasteful location. Our kitchen uses top quality products from local farms, with a particular preference for organic crops and traditional and certified specialties of the area. The menu varies according to the seasons and offers, among the various proposals, also vegetarian and gluten-free dishes, to satisfy all the needs of our dear guests.

In addition to the internal restaurant hall, during summer it is possible to dine on the terraces overlooking the olive grove, offering a suggestive view of Todi.

An area full of possibilities

Hortus is nestled among a variety of evocative nature trails and hikes. In fact, here you can take regenerative walks among the various paths in the area, set among villages and nature:

  • the Strada dei Vini del Cantico, one of four wine routes in Umbria,
  • the Corbara Lake circle, for a healthy and evocative bike ride
  • the Transameria and its gastronomic itinerary through slow food presidia
  • the Sentiero del Furioso, a 17-kilometer ring-shaped route near Todi.

Todi is the town in which we are located, and the nearest village: a must-see destination for discovering noble palaces, museums and art galleries, and places dedicated to religious worship, such as the Cathedral, the Church of San Fortunato and the beautiful Temple of Consolation designed by Bramante.

Neighboring villages such as Sismano and Acquasparta are ideal for spending an afternoon among the medieval castles that served as the main defense of the area, while the village of Montecastello di Vibio, a few kilometers away, is ranked as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

The major tourist attractions in the surrounding area are the city of Perugia, where the famous Eurochocolate, the chocolate festival, is held, as well as Assisi, where the Calendimaggio is celebrated, Gubbio, Spoleto, where the Festival of the Two Worlds is hosted, and the wonderful Marmore Falls, the natural spectacle par excellence.

All these destinations are within easy reach of the farmhouse, which will be your resting place after exciting out-of-town trips steeped in culture, nature and beauty.
